"I am a collector of interesting things" ......

I was watching a movie a couple weeks ago, The Brothers Bloom, and the "crazy" woman in the movie was asked what she did, she replied with "A collector of hobbies." Those words just hit me in a way where I sat back and thought "YES!" thats pretty much what I do. Let me explain more here. I am known to say that my art is sparked by other artists and creators around me, their creativity is what makes me spark. I am constantly trying new techniques or new products, and going from canvas, to wood, to paper, to altered art to assemblages to just about anything else! I am always saying "I can do that" I learn as much as I can or think I have to and go forth, then the funny thing is once I have completed it, thats it, I'm done. I just don't have to do it again.... but I figure is that I may not use all the information I learned but I will use a piece of it in the next thing I move onto....... so I have decided to say when asked what do you do? "I am a collector of interesting things".
Anyway here is some more pictures of interesting things that I have worked on. Take care.

New updates

Well as you can see I neglect this blog a lot! I tend to read more blogs then write in my own. But I have been inspired today by my sister's own blog, sunnisandyandwool-sunisandy.blogspot.com, she has been sharing some wonderful stuff..... so here I am ready to share along side her!
I have been really focusing on painting just experimenting with different mediums and techniques. I am a devout follower of artist Gary Reef, he is a fantastic inspiration, you can find him on youtube, ning, and his own blog, www.garyreef.com.
Here are some samples of my art:

The first 2 are on paper and framed into an 8x10. The next 2 are on canvas you can actually see my process for creating the last two here on youtube: www.youtube.com/user/gaylespez.

This next art piece is one of my favorites, a friend actually bought it from me, which is good because then I can still see it!

Well I am off to the art room! Enjoy the day and may it be filled with fun!

Whew I have been busy! I signed up as a seller on Etsy and have been creating art after art to post and try to sell. Most of my stuff in the past I have given as gifts so I had to replenish. And have I been! I love being in my studio it gives me so much pleasure to listen to my music and create what ever comes out of my heart and hands. I will post some pictures of my projects also so you can see them. Until next time.....

Enjoy the moment!

Creative today

I joined this web site called Swap-bot and I have been swapping post cards with different people from around the world. So I was writing some out today and decided to put some of my digital designing talents to use. Now don't get me wrong I am not saying I am the best at designing, I am still just a beginner and do it because I like it. I added an image so you could see what the front and back look like. The picture doesn't do it justice, it did come out better on the actual print out of the card. So just thought I would share.
